Paradise for the Predators & the Prey
In the highlands of Central India in Madhya Pradesh, Kanha National Park, has the distinction of being a protector for both the predator and the prey. It’s here that you can find the Royal Bengal Tiger, and it’s the only place in the world where you can find the Barasingha or the Hard Ground Swamp deer.
The vast Kanha landscape (spread over 1949 sq km) is dotted with dense groves of vegetation, hillocks and meadows. The meadows work like lifelines as they support the Chital, Sambar, Barasingha and Gaur, which consequently support the predators and co-predators the Tigers, Leopards, Wild Dogs, Jungle Cats and Foxes.
